I have wondered why the bible was full of war and brutality, and what we could learn from it for today. Why was it okay for David to kill so many enemies, and us no one?
One reason is because we are to be guided by the
patterns of warfare we read in our fighting in the far more real spiritual war. We have to train, behead, ambush, target, sparehead the spiritual enemies of God – anything that claims a hold on our lives and diminishes the power of His might in our lives.
We are to reclaim our rights to a sound mind, a strong body, a bold heart, unprecedented wisdom in all our actions in the world. We are not here for long in light of eternity. Death is nothing but the moment of birth into true living in Jesus presence. We
have to get real about what we are doing here. We are called to be an outstanding people, warriors of the highest standard; vessels for the outpouring of His Spirit to do all His good works in our granted time. Step into the fight and raise your weapon each
day… the Word of God in your mind. The Word displaces all fears and all bad habits. Create a new mind in me Lord Jesus and renew a right spirit in me. Plead for and hunger and thirst after Him. Feel the force of the craving for more of His Spirit at
work in your life and you will live in the abundance and freedom that brings great joy in the most distressing times life can bring.
HE HAS felt it all. Jesus has experienced all the longings and aching and tearing desires that we fall
under. Only He was able to withstand them in His holiness. Blessed story of all stories!!! He KNOWS my pain!!!!! And He knows and is the creator of my joy, unparalleled. God is good – nothing is truer. His divine leading is at work in our lives right
now, healing old wounds, forging new relationships for His fame to be spoken through, delighting with new insights and the unsurpassable pleasures of His company in the quietness and heckticness of my every day. Take Him at His Word. Breathe it in. Let Him
change you. Change me.
