My God stuff thinkings

Images that do not represent!

I want to throw a tantrum in my mind! I am sulking over the honest comments from a few loving friends who say the author photo in The Book of Told is not a good representation of me. I have been told it is unfriendly, intense, strange, confrontational, perhaps scary, among a very few positive comments. It is too late now. It is done, but I can't help feeling awkward about those comments when I think of the Font used for the headings in the book. It all combines into a rather uncomfortable image in my mind.

Stephen took that photo when I came home from work one day. I had reminded him I needed an author photo asap. He said he could do one, knowing I dislike cameras. He had me smiling painfully and sometimes glaring at the camera in cheeky fashion at his teasing remarks. This is what is really behind my gaze and I can only hope that people sweep quickly past that page and into the words of the story.

For the record: the 'irim' represents the Urim and Thummim from the Old Testament. This was a form of defining God's will used by the priests for a time. There is no sorcery or magic intended, and the mysterious font was offered by the publishers to add a Tolkien effect as the story is as much a mystery in the beginning as our world was when Adam first walked it. It is only at the end times (final chapters) that we can make sense of it all. Hang in there.

The above photo was taken the morning I first received my book! Excuse my dressing gown!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
